STEVEN BIRD, OD
Dr. Bird is originally from Idaho Falls, Idaho. He moved to Michigan and received his BA in Biology from Albion College in 1990. Dr. Bird then attended Indiana University and graduated in 1994 with a Doctor of Optometry degree. After graduating, Dr. Bird spent the next three years working at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. Dr. Bird practiced for the next two years in Bellingham, WA before acquiring Visions Northwest from Dr. David Betts.
Outside of Visions Northwest, Dr. Bird is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. He enjoys the unique, aviation-related humanitarian missions and patient care opportunities the military provides.
Dr. Bird enjoys extensive travelling, cooking, photography, fly fishing, skiing, hiking, and all the outdoor recreational opportunities the Pacific Northwest provides. An interesting fact about Dr. Bird is that he has an identical twin brother who is an Audiologist working in Adelaide, Australia. Dr. Bird is thrilled to practice in and be a part of our vibrant, downtown Seattle community. He finds it very rewarding addressing and solving the visual needs of patients who have not had success elsewhere.
SARAH ROSE, OPTICIAN
Sarah, born in Washington, spent her childhood in the Bay Area. She returned to Washington after graduating high school to be closer to family. With 15 years of optical experience under her belt, Sarah is dedicated to helping people find the perfect fit for their vision needs. She brings a warm approachable energy to her work and is passionate about ensuring each person feels comfortable and confident in their eyewear.
Outside of Visions Northwest you can find Sarah experimenting with and enhancing her culinary skills. If not bringing the heat in the kitchen you will find her side by side with her cat, Penelope, playing video games on multiple gaming systems.
KAELA ROSARIO, INSURANCE BILLER
Kaela is a Washington Native born and raised in Skagit Valley. She moved to downtown Seattle to attend the Art Institute of Seattle in 2010 where she earned her degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. With her love for the city she remained downtown and transitioned from the fashion industry to the optical industry in 2014. Although her passion started in styling frames, it grew after realizing how much a pair of glasses can enrich people’s lives.
Outside of work you can normally find Kaela visiting local art galleries, restaurants, and exploring the PNW. However, she likes to spend most of her time at home reading manga and watching Asian dramas.
SHEA S, OPTICIAN
Shea hailing all the way from Anchorage, Alaska now calls Seattle home. Starting her Washington journey in Poulsbo she realized that she was more of a city girl and moved to the vibrant Capitol Hill area. With a decade in the optical field, Shea is known for bringing creativity and care to every patient interaction. Her passion for music and colors drives her belief that your eyeglasses should be as vibrant and unique as the person wearing it.
When not helping find your perfect set of glasses you can find Shea exploring live music venues with her partner or trying new makeup looks with her 3 cats as her main critics.
